CEO – Dave Murcott
Mr. Murcott has over 20 years’ experience in business management, product development, and management consulting for companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 businesses.
Prior to MycoDART, he spent 8 years as VP of Product Development for a software training company, where he oversaw the development, production and commercial launch of dozens of products each year. Key to the company’s success was his ability to dramatically reduce the product development cycle. Software training videos, which used to ship months after the release of the associated software, were now able to ship the same day, increasing the sales life of the products and adding value to the bottom line.
Concurrently, Mr. Murcott forged and managed relationships with software giants, Apple, Adobe and Microsoft, positioning the company to become their preferred training provider and trusted OEM supplier. With co-branded Getting Started videos included with the software, the company reached 100% exposure to the market and increased revenue 6X during his tenure.
Mr. Murcott holds a Master of Science in Executive Leadership from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
CFO – Jeffrey Hooper
Mr. Hooper has over 20 years of experience in finance and accounting. He has a wide range of expertise in financial planning, management and compliance within Fortune 500 organizations including United Technologies Corporation (formerly Goodrich Corporation) and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). He has held various roles of increasing responsibility with his last assignment as the Controller of the Americas Region for United Technologies Aerospace (UTAS) Aftermarket.
Prior to this role, he spent 5 years managing the appropriation requests, project budgets, and statutory compliance for site expansions into Sao Carlos Brazil, Istanbul Turkey and Tianjin China for the Goodrich Aftermarket organization. These successful site expansions increased capacity by 2x and financially yielded payback periods ranging from 2-4 years.
He possesses experience in developing briefings, communication, analyses and initiatives to executive levels including Board of Directors. While employed with SAIC, he was the Senior financial analyst for both the BOD Stock Strategy Group and Equity Compensation committees.
Mr. Hooper holds a Master in Business Administration from the University of San Diego, received a BBA from Pacific Lutheran University.
Laboratory Director – Dennis Hooper, MD, PhD.
Dr. Hooper served in the Navy Medical corps, where he achieved the rank of Captain and for six years was the Chairman of the pathology department at Naval Hospital in San Diego. He was also named as Special Adviser to the Surgeon General of the Navy. Dr. Hooper has been responsible for the development of over two dozen diagnostic tests.
Associate Laboratory Director – Shalini Muralidhar, PhD.
Holding a doctorate in Molecular and Cell Biology, Dr. Muralidhar was a post doctoral fellow at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She received a postdoctoral fellowship award from the American Heart Association for research on heart regeneration. Her research has lead to multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Nature and Cell.
VP Technology Development – Sam Sutton.
Mr. Sutton holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He brings over 20 years’ experience in biotechnology, with a focus on operations and molecular methods. He has developed numerous assays and has overseen operations at several large clinical and research laboratories.
